The Audit Committee is the financial conscience of the association. As a supervisory body, this committee reviews the treasurer’s bookkeeping before every General Members’ Assembly (GMA) to make sure everything is accurate and transparent.
But they don’t do it on an empty stomach; it’s a tradition for the treasurer to prepare a full homemade dinner during the review evening. A well-deserved meal for a serious task!
The committee consists of at least two members, with at least one being a former treasurer. In addition to checking the finances, they also think along about financial policy and offer both requested and unrequested advice to the treasurer.
